Netgear DGN-2200: DSL Modem Configuration

1.Power  2.Ethernet 1-4  3.DSL Sync  4.Internet Connection(red or green)  5.WiFi on/off   6.WPS WiFi Sync
 Wireless password is located on the bottom of the modem.

If you have the old firmware for this router please click here.
 
  1. In a web browser, go to the address http://192.168.0.1
  2. Log in with username: admin password: password
  3. Choose No, I want to configure the Internet connection myself.


     
  4. Click on Advanced:


     
  5. Click on Setup:


     
  6. Click on Internet Setup:


     
  7. Set the following: 
    • Does the Internet Connection require a login? Yes
    • Encapsulation: PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)
    • Login: DSL username
    • Password: DSL password
    • Service Name: Leave Blank
    • Connection Mode: Always On
    • All other settings set to automatic
    Click Apply when complete.
     
  8. Select ADSL Settings and set the following: 
    • Multiplexing Method: LLC-Based
    • VPI: 0 (8 for CenturyLink/Embarq DSL circuits)
    • VCI: 35
    • DSL Mode: Auto
    Click Apply when complete.
     
  9. Select Wireless Settings:


     
  10. Set the following:
    • Enable SSID Broadcast: Checked
    • Enable Wireless Isolation: Unchecked
    • Name (SSID): Usually user's last name (optional)
    • Channel: Auto
    • Modem: Up to 300 Mbps
    • Security Options: WPA2-PSK(AES)
    • Passphrase: Leave default! (printed on sticker on bottom of the modem)
    Click Apply when complete.
Advanced Settings

Bridge Mode

To turn off the router function of the Netgear DGN2200 so you can use a 3rd party router with the modem:
  1. Select Advanced Setup from the Advanced menu and click on Device Mode:


     
  2. For Device Mode, choose: Modem Only.
Block Sites

Websites can be blocked based on keywords, and blocking can be set on a schedule using the Block Sites feature. 
  1. Select Administration from the Advanced menu and click on Block Sites.
  2. Under Keyword Blocking, choose your schedule.
  3. Enter a list of keywords that you wish to block.
  4. Click Apply when complete.
