WARNING: If you are currently using a POP3 email settings in Mac Mail, removing the account will also delete all of your email. Please back up any email before adjusting your account settings.
Mac Mail (OS X 10.5) Manual Setup
- Obtain the server settings for your email account by using the Email Settings Wizard.
- Click on the Mail icon to open Mac Mail.

- Click on the Mail menu and select Preferences. (If no accounts are currently set up in Mail, the email wizard will start automatically- skip to step 5.)
- Make sure the Accounts button is selected and click the + (Create an Account) button on the lower left corner of the window.

- Type your Full Name, your complete Email Address, and the Password for your account, then click Continue.

- For Account Type choose IMAP. Fill in a Description of the account. Enter your Incoming Mail Server listed in Step 1. For Username, enter your complete email address, then your password. Click Continue.

- If Step 1 specifies Server Requires a Secure Connection (SSL), checkmark Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Make sure Authentication is set to Password. Click Continue.

- Type a Description of the outgoing mail server (i.e.- TOAST.net Outgoing Mail). Enter your Outgoing Mail Server listed in Step 1. Checkmark Use only this server. Checkmark Use Authentication, and enter your complete email address and password. Click Continue.

- If Step 1 specifies Server Requires a Secure Connection (SSL), checkmark Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Make sure Authentication is set to Password. Click Continue.

- Verify your settings as compared to the settings listed in Step 1. Checkmark Take Account Online. Click Create.

- Click the Advanced tab. Make sure the Port number matches the Incoming Mail Port from Step 1. Authentication should be se to Password. If Step 1 specifies Server Requires a Secure Connection (SSL), make sure Use SSL is checkmarked.

- Click the red "Close" button.
- Your account is now set up for use with Mac Mail 10.5.
