Use the instructions below to convert a
Zoom X3 or X5 to bridge mode. This mode is used if you wish to disable
the router functions on your DSL modem so a 3rd party router can be
used.
- Log into the router by typing in the address http://10.0.0.2 in the address bar and pressing the Enter key. When prompted, type the username and password as follows:
Username -- admin
Password -- zoomadsl
- Click the Advanced Setup tab and choose the WAN Configuration button. Change the following information:
Protocol -- 1483 Bridged IP
Encapsulation -- LLC
VPI -- 0
VCI -- 35
Bridge -- Enable
- Click Save Changes and then click Write Settings to Flash.
- Click the DHCP button within the Advanced Setup tab. Select the option for NoneSave Changes and then click Write Settings to Flash. and click
- Click the NAT button within the Advanced Setup tab. Select the option for DisableSave Changes and then click Write Settings to Flash. and click
- Click the LAN button within the Advanced Setup tab. Choose the option for External DHCP Server and click Save Changes. Click Save Changes
one last time to convert the system to bridging. Note that you will
have to reset the firmware in order to access the web interface or
switch the modem back to Routing mode.
