This error means that the modem TOAST.net is trying to use on the computer is not functioning properly. Restarting the computer will normally correct this issue.
If restarting the computer does not fix the issue, try the following:
- Check the TOAST.net Dialer to make sure it's using the correct modem.
- Open the Dialer window, then click the Options button.
- Under the Modem tab, make sure the correct modem is selected from the drop-down menu.
- Check with modem/PC manufacturer. If the modem is not working correctly, the manufacturer of the computer would have information on reinstalling the modem software or replacement options.
