Migrate Google Drive to a Personal Google Account

To migrate Google Drive data to a personal Google Account, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Google Takeout and log in with old Google account.
  2. Just select Drive from the list and click Next.
  3. Select "Create archive" and the Archive will be prepared.
  4. Select Download under Details to download Drive files.
  5. Unzip files to a folder.
  6. Log into new Google account and go to Drive.
  7. Go to setting and select “Convert uploaded files to Google Docs editor format.”
  8. Choose New - File Upload and select files from Takeout folder.
  9. If using Google Chrome, files from unzipped Takeout folder can be "dragged and dropped" to Drive.
  10. If files were shared they will need to be re-shared.
