Arris SBG6950AC2 Light Status Guide

Meaning of the Lights on the Arris SBG6950AC2 Modem/Router:

The SBG6950 has various lights on the front of it which show it's current performance status. Please see the figure below for the label of each light:
               

Power Light: This light tells you whether there is currently power to the modem or not.

  • Solid Blue: The modem currently has power
  • Off: The modem is not receiving power, check connections, attempt a reboot.

Send/Receive Light: The light tells you if the downstream and upstream channels are connected

  • Solid Blue: Send//Receive channels are connected, ready to route traffic.
  • Flashing Blue: Attempting to connect to Send/Receive channels.

Online Light: This light tells you if you have an internet connection from your Internet Service Provider to the modem.

  • Solid Blue: Modem has an active internet connection.
  • Flashing Blue: Modem is trying to establish an internet connection.

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Light: This light tells you if there are active Wi-Fi devices on the 2.4 GHz channel of the modem.

  • Solid Blue: There is at least one Wi-Fi device connected to the 2.4 GHz channel of the modem, but no traffic 
  • Flashing Blue: There is at least one device connected to the 2.4 GHz channel of the modem with active traffic

5 GHz Wi-Fi Light: This light tells you if there are active Wi-Fi devices on the 5 GHz channel of the modem.

  • Solid Blue: There is at least one Wi-Fi device connected to the 5 GHz channel of the modem, but no traffic
  • Flashing Blue: There is at least one device connected to the 5 GHz channel of the modem with active traffic

In conclusion, most of the time, if the "Online" light is solid blue, you are all set to connect to the internet. The other lights are there for more details. If the "Online" light remains flashing blue for an extended period of time, please contact your ISP.
