Using the TOAST.net Dialer

Requirements

 

  • Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8 (32 or 64-bit)
  • Supported browsers - Internet Explorer 8 or higher, Firefox or Google Chrome

 

The TOAST.net Dialer is the recommended software for dial-up service plans. The Dialer has many features which help in configuring dialing rules and troubleshooting.

Changing Your Access Number

TOAST.net maintains multiple networks across the country with most cities offering multiple access numbers. Most cities offer Preferred access numbers. To change your access number using the TOAST.net Dialer, follow these steps:

  1. Double click the TOAST.net icon from your Desktop.
  2. Click the Select button.
  3. Enter your State and City in the drop menu (or you can choose the your area code).
  4. Choose a number and click OK.
  5. Confirm that it's a local call with no additional fees from your phone company.
     
Enabling 10-Digit Dialing

Some areas of the country require you to dial the area code then the phone number to make a local call. If you require 10-digit dialing, follow these steps to configure the TOAST.net Dialer:

  1. Double click the TOAST.net icon from your Desktop.
  2. Click on Properties.
  3. Choose the "Dial using 10 digits option".
  4. Verify the Dial As # at the bottom of the page is correct.
  5. Click OK.
     
Disabling Call-Waiting

If you have call-waiting as part of your phone plan, disabling this feature will prevent unwanted disconnections from the Internet in the event of an incoming call. Check with your local phone company for the appropriate disable code (most areas use *70).

  1. Double click the TOAST.net icon from your Desktop.
  2. Click on Properties.
  3. Check the box "To disable call waiting dial:".
  4. Choose the appropriate disable code from the drop down menu.
  5. Verify the Dial As # at the bottom of the page is correct.
  6. Click OK.
