Overdrive Pro - Troubleshooting - Connected/Cannot Browse

If your Overdrive Pro is connected to the 3G or 4G towers but cannot browse, please continue reading the following article for instructions on resolving this issue.
 
Please check to see if you can get online after each fix, since it most likely will not take all of them to resolve the issue.
  1. Verify that the Overdrive Pro is connected to the 3G or 4G towers. You can confirm this by verifying that the 3G or 4G is surrounded by a white outlined box, and there are 1 or more bars to the left.


     
  2. If you are using Internet Explorer, ensure that it is not set to Work Offline. This can be verified by clicking File and ensuring there is no check next to Work Offline.

  3. Clear the cookies, cache, reset the browser and ensure that all security levels are at their default for the that you are using. Please click here to open a new window with instructions.
     
  4. Enter the address 192.168.0.1 in your web browser to bring up the control panel for the Overdrive Pro.
     
  5. Once at the control panel, enter the Admin Login password of: password
    Click OK.



     
  6. Once you are in the administrator section of the Overdrive Pro, click on Advanced Settings.


     
  7. Click on 'Check for updates now'.


     
  8. Verify that the device says it is connecting and then says that it is fully up to date.


     
  9. Click on WAN.


     
  10. Click on 'Update 3G PRL'.


     
  11. There will be a popup verifying that you want to update the PRL and warning you that the 3G service will be interrupted while it is updating. Also the Overdrive Pro might restart.


     
  12. While it is updating there will be a button to cancel the update. Do not click this button. It may take upwards of 2-3 minutes depending on the mobile connection for the device to update.


     
  13. Click on 'Update 3G Profile'.


     
  14. There will be another popup asking to update the Overdrive 3G Profile, the 3G service will be interrupted during this process. Also the Overdrive Pro might restart.


     
  15. While it is updating there will be a button to cancel the update. Do not click this button. It may take upwards of 2-3 minutes depending on the mobile connection for the device to update.


     
  16. Once it is completed, the popup will change to say 'Activation complete!'.


     
  17. Click on 'Router'.


     
  18. Click on 'Router Settings Reset'.


     
  19. There will be a popup asking if you are sure you want to reset the router settings. Click OK.


     
  20. The page will change to inform you that there is a System Restart in Progress. The Overdrive Pro will turn itself off and on during this process. Keep in mind that if the SSID has been customized then the computer will not auto reconnect to the Overdrive Pro, since the SSID will be set back to default settings.


     
  21. Once the computer is reconnected to the Overdrive Pro it will ask you to review and accept the terms and conditions. Check the box and hit Save.


     
  22. At this point in time you will see a screen offering to take you to the internet, to the homepage of the Overdrive Pro or to set up the Overdrive Pro. You can close the browser window at this time.


     
  23. Please close the browser and restart the computer.
     
  24. If the computer still fails to browse and the Overdrive is connected, perform a battery pull on the device. Ensure the power is not plugged in while the battery is out of the device. Plug the battery in and see if you can now browse.
