Browser does not Auto-Disconnect when I exit

This article will confirm that the Auto-Disconnect function is enabled and will disconnect your Dial-up connection when you close your web browser.


TOAST.net Dialer

To be prompted to disconnect from TOAST.net when you close out of your Internet applications, install the TOAST.net Dialer. This feature will automatically be configured during installation. Download and install the TOAST.net Dial-up Setup Program.

To confirm or adjust Dialer options follow these steps:

  1. Double click on the TOAST.net icon form your Desktop.
  2. Click on the Options button
  3. Checkmark the options for Prompt to Disconnect and Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed.

Windows Standard Dialer

If you do not have the TOAST.net Dialer installed, you can manually confirm Disconnect if Connection May No Longer Be Needed is activated:

  1. From the Windows Start menu, open the Control Panel. Within Control Panel, Double click on Internet Options. (If Internet Options is not showing on the Control Panel, click on Switch to Classic View first).

  2. Within Internet Options, select the Connections tab, highlight your TOAST.net connection, and click the Settings button next to the Dial-up Settings box.

  1. Within Dial-up Settings, click the Advanced button.

  1. To enable the Auto-Disconnect feature, place a check in the box that states Disconnect if connection may no longer be needed and click OK on all the Internet Options windows.
